Service Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Relationship Renewal, a relationship and family counselling therapy service.
Below are our 'Terms and Conditions'. These safeguard both you, our client, and us, the service provider. Please take the time to read them and feel free to ask us any questions you may have throughout our journey together.
For the purpose of this document, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Relationship Renewal, whereas “you”, “your”, “client” and “user” are used in reference to you.
These Terms and Conditions constitute a contract between Relationship Renewal and you. It's important that you read it thoroughly and raise any concerns before accepting it.
Our services, including all information, tools, website features, and therapy, are available to you subject to your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies and notices outlined here.
By using our site and/or purchasing something from us, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions, inclusive of any additional terms and conditions and policies mentioned here or made available by us. These Terms and Conditions are applicable to all users of the service, including browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and contributors of content.
If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, you should refrain from accessing or using our services. If these Terms and Conditions are considered an offer, acceptance is expressly limited to these Terms and Conditions.
We reserve the right to update, change or replace any part of these Terms and Conditions by posting updates and/or changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the service following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
We reserve the right but are not obligated, to limit the sales of our products or services to any person, geographic region or jurisdiction. We may exercise this right on a case-by-case basis.
We also reserve the right to limit the quantities of any products or services that we offer.
All descriptions of products, services or prices are subject to change at any time without notice, at our sole discretion.
We reserve the right to discontinue any product or service at any time.

Our Service

Our service is typically goal-oriented, focusing on specific aspects related to your personal life, relationships, or general life conditions. At the start of your therapy, we will discuss these with you. Your comfort, safety, and progress are of utmost importance to us, and we encourage you to communicate openly and honestly throughout each session. Progress will be monitored throughout the duration of your sessions. Working towards stated goals requires effort, openness, and active involvement on your part.
Please note that Relationship Renewal does not guarantee specific results or improvements in your condition, feelings, thoughts or symptoms. This service may involve discussing unpleasant events, feelings, or thoughts that may result in discomfort or distress. We may propose different ways of looking at, thinking about, or handling situations, and use various techniques during the sessions, always with your consent.

Sessions

A typical session lasts approximately 60 minutes. This includes time to settle into the session, as well as wrap up and depart. We may also offer longer sessions, such as a 90-minute family or couples session.

Attendance to Sessions

Our therapy sessions require a commitment from you and are intended to help you build a better life. In order to secure a booking, advance payment must be made. If you cannot attend a session due to illness or another valid reason, it's your responsibility to contact us 24 hours before the appointment to avoid a cancellation fee.
Video sessions can be arranged if you're unable to attend in person and are charged at the same rate as face-to-face sessions.
Sessions are scheduled at a mutually convenient time for the therapist and the client. The day and time for the subsequent session are typically arranged at the end of each therapy session. Please ensure you arrive promptly for all appointments. If you are late, the session will still end at the scheduled time, meaning your session will be shortened.
In rare cases, your therapist may need to cancel an appointment. In such instances, we will give you as much notice as possible, and your session will be rebooked at the earliest mutually convenient time.

Service Refusal

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason, at any time. If a client arrives under the influence of alcohol or drugs or becomes abusive or aggressive before or during a session, we reserve the right to cancel that session immediately. Please note that such cancelled sessions will still be charged.

Therapist's Notes

During the session, the therapist may take notes for their personal reference to support the work in the session. These notes remain the property and responsibility of the therapist throughout the sessions. However, you may request access to these notes under the Freedom of Information Act (1992).

Confidentiality and Disclosure

All information disclosed within sessions, written communications, and records related to those sessions are confidential and will not be revealed to anyone without your written permission, unless disclosure is required by law, there is a significant risk of harm to others, or there are concerns about the safety of a child or vulnerable adult.
However, all therapists are required to discuss their work with a qualified Supervisor under the ethical standards of our profession. In such discussions, individual clients are not identified; the aim is to support the therapist in their work.
There are specific situations in which we are required to disclose information about appointment times without your authorisation. These include, but are not limited to:
  • Court orders for information about your therapy if you are involved in litigation, mandated counselling, or any forensic matters
  • If a client files a complaint or lawsuit against a therapist
  • Workers’ compensation claim details of appointments
  • If the client is a minor, parents have the right to access information and the clinical record

Harm to Self or Others

If there's a risk of harm to yourself or others, or a need for appropriate psychiatric or medical care, the therapist must act within the limits of the law to prevent injury and ensure proper care. This may require contacting the police, hospital, or an emergency contact provided by you at the commencement of the counselling. In such cases, your therapist will make every reasonable effort to discuss the situation with you first and limit the disclosure to what is necessary.

Dual Relationships

A dual relationship is where your personal life intersects with your professional relationship with your therapist. If you encounter your therapist outside of the therapy setting, they will maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality about your therapeutic relationship. Consequently, your therapist will not accept any invitations via social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or Pinterest.

Mutual Non-Disclosure

Relationship Renewal and you mutually recognise that we may discuss future plans, business affairs, customer lists, financial information, job information, goals, personal information, and other private information. We commit not to voluntarily disclose your information to a third party. In order to protect our intellectual property, you also agree not to disclose information about our practice, materials, or methods to any third parties.

Limitation on Litigation

Given the nature of the therapeutic process, which often involves full disclosure regarding matters that may be confidential, it is agreed that if there are legal proceedings (such as, but not limited to, divorce and custody disputes, injuries, lawsuits, etc.), neither you nor your legal representative, nor anyone else acting on your behalf, will call on us to testify in court or at any other proceeding, nor will a disclosure of the counselling records be requested.

Modifications to Services and Prices

Prices for our products are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue the Service (or any part or content thereof) without notice. We shall not be liable to you or to any third-party for any modification, price change, suspension or discontinuation of the Service.

Accuracy of Billing and Account Information

You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for all payments and purchases made. You agree to promptly update your account and other information, including your email address and credit card numbers and expiration dates, so that we can complete your transactions and contact you as needed.

Optional Tools and Resources

We may provide you with access to third-party tools and resources over which we neither monitor nor have any control nor input. You acknowledge and agree that we provide access to such tools and resources “as is” and “as available” without any warranties, representations or conditions of any kind and without any endorsement. We shall have no liability whatsoever arising from or relating to your use of optional third-party tools. Any use by you of optional tools offered through our service is entirely at your own risk and discretion, and you should ensure that you are familiar with and approve of the terms on which tools are provided by the relevant third-party provider(s). New services and/or features may also be offered by us in the future; these will be subject to these Terms and Conditions.

Certain content, products, and services available via our Service may include materials from third parties. Third-party links on this site may direct you to third-party websites that are not affiliated with us. We are not responsible for examining or evaluating the content or accuracy, and we do not warrant and will not have any liability or responsibility for any third-party materials or websites, or for any other materials, products, or services of third-parties.
